SPB's First Malayalam Song "ee kadalum maru ..."

Dear SPB Fans,

Recently, I had posted our SPB's first Kannada song. Today's posting is of a song which is HIS first Malayalam song

As I am not familiar with this song, I am not able to present details about it. However, the lyrics appear to be thought provoking and inspite of my ignorance of Malayalam I am able to understand the lyrics to some extent (based on similarity of some words with that of Tamil words). It seems to bring out the essence that one is able to find only people identified as Hindus, Muslims, Christians & so on and not as plain human beings.

I came across an article in THE HINDU dated 15 Feb 2006 which is about a concert by our SPB at Tutucorin on 12 Feb 2006. From this, it seems he had sung the song in discussion. Following are the words drawn from the article "He became emotional when he sang `Ee Kadalum Maru Kadalum..' from the Malayalam movie `Kadalpaalam'. "The lines are so meaningful and are much relevant today when human values are facing a degradation," he pointed out to the crowd.
