"Dasarathi Karunapayonidhi' * Lyrics: Vedavyas Singers: S.P. Balu, Chitra

This song sets the stage for climax. It depicts the Ramadasu’s culmination into Lord Rama attaining Moksha/Nirvana. Ramadasu in his ''Dasarathi Satakam'' uses the punch line 'Dasarathi Karunapayonidhi'', this song starts off with that phrase and goes on like 'Neeve dikkani nammadama....seetharama swamy ne chesina neram adi emi?'. Devotion outflows from Chitra’s voice in the form of “Rama rasa ramya” resembles the river Godavari’s turbulent flow.

Ramadasu in his 'Dasarathi Satakam' uses the punch line "Dasarathi Karunapayonidhi', this song starts off with that phrase and goes on like "Neeve dikkani nammadama....seetharama swamy ne chesina neram adi emi?", so one can imagine the situation. The lyrics are exceptional and complex, so the only choice to sing such songs, SPB, has been chosen and he is superb. The chorus "Rama rasa ramya Rama..." sung by Chitra is out of the world and matches Balu's rendition to enhance the beauty of the song. One would definitely feel the pain that Ramadasu undergoes in this song. Hats off to Keeravani for such a wonderful song.

Dear Covai Ravee,

Thanks for presenting a very good devotional song of our SPB. I am doubly happy that it contains my name. Hearing this song, i am reminded of one of my grandfathers who always used to greet me with the words "dasarathi karunaapayonidhi". He died 25 years back and after that i am hearing it now through our SPB's voice. Thanks a lot.
