"Sangeetha Vaanil..." thavazhum nam SPB voice

Dear SPB Fans,

I would like to share with you all, one of my all time favourite SPB love duet “Sangeetha Vaanil…” from the Tamil Film “Chinna Poove Mella Pesu” (1987). Vani Jayaram is his co-singer.

I just love this song for the way our SPB has rendered it. He has given very emotional touches to the rendering. Listen to the Pallavi first. The way he renders the phrase “indha yEhaandha vELaiyil mounangaL thEdum” just dragging it without an interval when rendering it the second time and also in the later repetitions. Simply GREAT. Words just don’t suffice. Likewise, the emotions he brings in his voice when he sings the phrases “kannangaLil oru vaan vaNNamE...kaNdEn ingE malar thEn kiNNamE...” in the first charanam & “kannal yenum idhazh suvai oottudhE… kaaNum mugam indru yenai vaattudhE..” in the second charanam is simply out of the world. I felt my body hair bristling on hearing these portions of the song. Added to these is the lovely humming at the start of the charanams. Mesmerising indeed. Vani Jayaram has provided splendid support with her solid voice.

Music is by S.A.Rajkumar. This was his first movie and he has delivered a great composition for the occasion. The start off with the Violin and Flute is really very pleasant to hear and also in the interludes. A heart moving composition with lot of melody content in it. He has also penned the lyrics for this song and also for all the other songs of this movie. Rajkumar has a few good songs to his name wherein he has utilized our SPB a lot. Maybe I will post some of these later.

This film starred Pallavi, Prabhu, Ramki, Sabitha Anand, Sudha Chandran and was a decent movie indeed with love being the primary focus. Directed by Robert Rajasekar.
